Brief Biography
Xuan Guang is currently a Full Professor in the School of Mathematical Sciences (SMS) at Nankai University (NKU). He was selected into the Hundred Young Academic Leaders Program of Nankai University in 2017. He was a recipient of the 2018 Chinese Information Theory Young Rising Star Award by China Information Theory Society.
He received the Ph.D. degrees in mathematics from Chern Institute of Mathematics at Nankai University in 2012, under the supervision of Prof. Fang-Wei Fu, and he was also a joint Ph.D. student in the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Southern California from Jan. 2011 to Aug. 2012, under the supervision of Prof. Zhen Zhang. From Nov. 2015 to Nov. 2018, he was a postdoctoral fellow under the Hong Kong Scholars Program in the Institute of Network Coding (INC) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, under the supervision of Prof. Raymond W. Yeung.
His research interests include information theory and coding theory for function computation, network coding, and information-theoretic security.
